Addressing Students' Mental Health and Physical Health issues: Report
Abstract
This report investigates the various issues of Mental Health and Physical Health: sleep
deprivation, academic and social pressures, poor nutrition, and physical inactivity among
students of Lithuania. Utilizing a modest survey approach, 36 participants, in this case
students, were asked a series of questions about their experiences and behaviors related to
these health issues. The sexes were evenly distributed. Our findings revealed disturbing
trends, with a relevant portion of students reporting insufficient sleep duration, high
academic stress, social pressure, unhealthy diet habits, and settled lifestyles. These results
emphasize the occurrence of these health concerns among students and their potential impact
on overall well-being, emotional state and academic performance. The findings highlight the
immediate need for interventions and providing support that looks at the whole person, not
just their mental health needs to address these issues, covering educational initiatives,
environmental modifications.

Introduction
Students' well-being and learning outcomes are highly dependent on their health status.
Recently, there has been increasing concern about the spread of health problems in the
educational environment. This report aims to examine the various health challenges faced by
students, identify their origins and consequences, and suggest ways to address these issues.

Main body
Sleep deprivation
Sleep deprivation can have serious consequences on students' health, academic performance,
and overall well-being. Main causes for the lack of sleep are irregular schedules and
academic demands. By looking at the survey only half of the respondents get recommended
7-9 hours of sleep and a whopping 90% of students have difficulties falling asleep.
